4 little words that can change EVERYTHING!
I have an idea.
Let's BANISH the words
"I want to be thin"
from our vocabulary....and instead make it:
"I WILL be thin".
Why? Well, two reasons, really...
First of all, if you say 'I will' versus 'I want to', it puts you into a statement of COMMITMENT.
That's the old 'commitment versus willpower' thing....Willpower doesn't last....it's 'grit your teeth and hold on', and you can only do that for so long...whereas COMMITMENT takes you all the way there and THEN some, because your brain works FOR you, it comes up with ways to MAKE IT WORK for you.
It's no longer an 'iffy' situation...it's a FACT. You WILL be slim! And therefore you'll do whatever it takes to get there.
Secondly -- this is harder to understand but suspend your disbelief for a second....the universe always has ONE answer and ONE answer only to our thoughts...and that is to reflect them BACK. It acts like a mirror. So if you say, "I want to be thin", the universe answers "YES!, you DO want to be thin....so you will continue WANTING to be thin instead of actually BEING thin!
You see how that works? Versus if you say "I WILL be thin", the universe again answers 'YES! you WILL be thin" and guess what? You WILL (eventually) be thin! You'll 'make it so' with your actions.
By thinking 'as if' you're already there....you're already behaving like a thin person, it's just a question of your body catching up with your mind and heart. Right?
I know this sounds like a weird concept, but it's based on a lot of spiritual reading I've been doing lately; and personally I believe that getting in touch with your SPIRIT -- your SOUL, if you will -- can help you live a better life.
When you do what makes your SOUL happy, you do it with JOY. It's not a 'chore' anymore. It's not 'work'.
Those of us lucky enough to have found an occupation that we LOVE doing, that we were BORN to do, that fulfillls our SOUL....are happier people!
And it's SO important to FIND that 'one thing' that you love doing, that makes you happy.
That's why I recommend you find L&G meals you actually LIKE. No dried-up chicken breast for me, thank you!
And that's why I'm always saying, when it comes to exercise? DON'T DO ANY exercise that you HATE! Find something you actually can TOLERATE...and over time, it may blossom into a true LOVE of doing it, just for the joy of doing it!
And if it doesn't blossom into joy, stop doing it and find something else. Sooner or later you'll find something you like!
I have always believed that this is a LONG TERM program....not just something quick and dirty we do real fast to get 5, 10, 20 or whatever amount of pounds off, and then we go back to our 'normal' lives...(and guess what? We REGAIN it and HATE ourselves).
That just doesn't make sense, does it? That's the definition of insanity! Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
So THIS time, I'm proceeding 'as if' I'm already thin....I'm telling myself 'I WILL be thin', not 'I WANT to'.....(because of COURSE we all 'want to', but we need to move from a state of WANTING to BEING!)....and it will happen easier for me.
Try it! What have you got to lose (except the weight?) LOL....
Keep on keeping on....
